LEE, Albert - Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Tuesday, 17 June 1890  (also click on name)
The other day The Journal received a letter from John E. Humphries in which he writes that after the disappearance of Albert Lee from the Scott Township neighborhood, he received a letter from him written at Indianapolis on business matters and he is satisfied that Lee is still living. He regarded the whole attempt before the grand jury as a piece of sensation and without any substantial basis. Wm M. Reeves and M. D. White saw the letter that Mr. Humphries received and are satisfied that Lee is still living. Recently we heard of a man by the name of Albert Lee living in Grant County who represented that he formerly lived in the vicinity of Crawfordsville. At any rate it is a pretty well settled fact that neither Aaron nor James Vancleave knows anything of the whereabouts of the mysterious Albert Lee.
