Constables Hernley and Tomlinson went to Kirkpatrick to place under arrest Christopher and Augustus Bradengen (sic Bredgenger) ), two brothers who are changed with having assaulted with intent to kill one Frank Thompson.  According to reports Thompson was pretty badly battered up, having his arm broken, a few ribs torn loose and his eyes blackened, besides receiving numerous other bruises of lesser importance.  The trail will come off in Squire Stilwell’s court tomorrow.    ~~~transcribed by kbz

The Bredgenger (sic) brothers of Kirkpatrick who were arrested yesterday on a charge of having assaulted with intent to kill one Frank Thompson of the same place were before Justice Stilwell this morning.  They were each placed under $100 bond for their appearance in his court on the morning of Dec 11 when the case will be heard.  Thomas and Foley have been retained by the Bredgengers.    ~~~transcribed by kbz
