Beach-Bible fight
Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal Saturday 9 May 1891
R. M. Bible, one of the principals in the Beach-Bible fracas of last Tuesday, was in the city today. He says that it was not until Mr. Beach had designated him as a lying cur for many times that he finally got out of the wagon. Mr. Beach was then standing in the road daring him to fight. Mr. Bible states that he ran up to where Mr. Beach stood by the side of his buckboard and quickly struck him behind the ear with his bare fist. No wrench was used, nor did he have one. When Mr. Beach was struck he fell across his buckboard to the ground and was really unconscious for several minutes. Mr. Bible states that he regrets the occurrence exceedingly, but believes he was right. No legal action has been taken as yet.
