Crawfordsville, Ind Oct 25 – Three men, giving their names as James Summers, Joseph Summers and Francis Giltin, Champaign, Ill arrested here on suspicion have been taken to Danville, Ill to face charges of robbing a filling station.  The men, when arrested, were armed.    ~~~transcribed by kbz

Crawfordsville, Oct 27 – James C. Summers, 29 of Champaign, Ill, armed bandit arrested here Tuesday night may have been one of the men who held up the bank at Reynolds about a year ago.  Summer has been positively identified by Frank Gardner, local filling station attendant as one of the bandits who held up his station, Oct 23, 1932, obtaining nearly $100.  The car used in this robbery was used a few days later in the Reynolds Bank Robbery, leading to the belief that Summers may have been involved in the latter crime.  One of the Reynolds bandits, it is recalled had light red hair and Summers fills the bill in this respect.  With a brother, Joseph T. Summers and Francis Giblin, the latter of Sardorus, Ill, Summers was arrested here Tuesday night on suspicion.  A little later it was learned they had stolen an automobile at Champaign and robbed a filling station in Danville, Ill.    ~~~transcribed by kbz
