ASSAULT Charges against Joseph Parish - 1900

Crawfordsville – April 19 – Joseph R. Parish, the Indianapolis saloon keeper arrested here last November for attempting to criminally assault Lulu Wallace of Indianapolis who accompanied him here was released this morning on payment of a fine for plain assault, the criminal intent being dropped. He was tried once for with intent but the jury disagreed. The prosecuting witness and her mother disappeared shortly before the trial and a search by the prosecutor failed to reveal their whereabouts. ~~~transcribed by kbz
