By this deed we, Burrell McCormick and Ellen McCormick, his wife of Montgomery County, state of Indiana convey and warrant to William McLAUGHLIN of Montgomery County in the state of Indiana for the sum of $600 the following real estate in Montgomery County, state of Indiana to wit:
the west half the east half of the northwest quarter of section 23 in township 18 north of range 4 west except 10 acres off the north and thereof said tract so conveyed supposed to contain 30 acres more or less
In witness thereof the said Burrell McCormick and Ellen McCormick, his wife have hereunto set their hands and seasl this 13th day of July AD 1861 Burrell McCormick - his mark Ellen McCormick - her mark Attest: B. T. Ristine; James Craig State of Indiana Montgomery County Set before me Ben T. Ristine a Notary Public in and for said county came Burrell McCormick and Ellen McCormick his wife and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance
