JACOB FULWIDER - files suit against Clover Leaf RR

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Argus News May 5, 1894 p 4

Jacob Fulwider has filed a suit for damages against the Clover Leaf railroad. Mr. Fulwider has a stock pasture adjoining the railroad's right of way and not long since one of his most valuable horses, clum the fence and took his stand squarely on the track. A train came creeping along at that time but the engineer, a selfish individual instead of turning out or at least giving half the track, ran his iron steel over and against Mr. Fulwider's nag, scattering him in several directions and sending his spirit to the happy grazing grounds. Th eplaintiff thinks the Clover Leaf engineers should be otherwise employed than running about the country wantonly killing stock and estimates that $120 damages will just aobut even up his account. - kbz
