Source: Weekly Argus News Jan 6, 1900 p 5

Mrs. James O. DINGMAN, wife of the missing Linden doctor, who disappeared between two days not long since to evade paying the penalty prescribed by a jury for the theft of a few ears of corn was in the city last week to consult Judge West in regard to her husband's case. In the face of it all she had the consumate nerve to deny that she had definite knowledge as to his whereabouts and whimpered not a little when Judge West took her sharply to task for such a bare faced misstatement.
