TIMES MAIL Opal P. Chattman of Springville, IN, formerly of Charleston, S.C., died Saturday, October 10, 1998, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on December 13, 1937, in Eubank, KY, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Roxie (Bell) Phillips. Surviving are her companion and caregiver, William F. Jones of Springville, IN; two daughters: Kathy S. Grissom-Semerau of Springville, IN, and Angel Wilcox of Charleston, S.C.; four brothers: Davie E., Joe Ray, Howard, and Stanley Phillips, all of Springville, IN; three sisters: Aline Nelson of Houston, TX, Charlene Banks and Alma Jones, both of Springville, IN; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carrie Gregory; and four brothers, Glen, Herbert, R.C. and Luther Phillips. She was a sergeant for Security Force in Charleston, S.C. and was a member of the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church in Springville. Services for Opal Chattman will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14th, at Oak Grove Church in Springville with Bro. Larry Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from noon until the service time Wednesday at the church. The Day & Carter Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
