(Kruusan, Cruzan,Krusan) born 8 Aug 1838 in Elkhart, Indiana. She
married William M. CARPENTER (b. 26 Feb 1825, also thought
to be in Elkhart) about 1856 and they had a number of children
before moving to Jasper Co., Illinois and then on to Kansas. Her
father may have been a Benjamin KRUZAN, but I haven't been
able to prove it yet.

I am researching my Conley ancestors and would like to hear from
other individuals interested in this surname. My grandfather
Louie E. Conley was born in or near Elkhart in 1888 and died in
Fairview, Okla. in 1962. My g-grandather was Charles M. Conley
(b. about 1860, supposedly in or near Elkhart; d. 1935 at
Fairview, Okla.). His wife was Laura May Fouth Conley. My
g-g-grandfather was Marion L. Conley (dates unknown); his wife
was Alice Todd Conley (dates unknown). I can find no record of
them in the 1860 or 1880 Indiana federal census. If anyone has
any information on these persons I'd be very happy to hear from
them, as I am really stuck right now.

City, Onodaga County, New York, but died in 1834 in Michigan City
which was then in St. Joseph County, Indiana. I realize that
Michigan City is now in LaPorte County; however, I wonder whether
records in St. Joseph County would indicate in which cemetery he
is buried. Future generations ended up in Grant County, IN, but I
cannot trace further back than Reynolds.
