Mrs. Mary Doris Cotton, age 35, of Cates, a former resident of Covington, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis where she had been a patient the past two months. She had been in ill health for some time. A former resident of Warren County, she resided in Covington from 1960 until 1963 and for the past two years had lived in Cates. Mrs. Cotton was born Nov. 22, 1929, in Clinton County, the daughter of George and Lettie High Vail. She was married Aug. 26, 1963 to George C. Cotton, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the husband are: three children, Bill Nall of Hillsboro and Jackie and Teana both at home; two brothers, Robert Vail of Williamsport Rt. 1 and Roy Vail of Williamsport; and one half-sister, Mrs. Helen Smith of Sheldon, Ill. She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother. Funeral services were conducted at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22. The Rev. Thomas Stapp officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport.
