Howard
Chapel Cemetery is across the street from Hopewell Chapel, Northeast of
Gessie, Indiana. There was a church at Howard Chapel one
time, not sure where it was located but information from a publication
about
Highland Township churches state it was a Methodist Episcopal
Church. As far as can be determined, Rev. William Stutler, my
ancestor, was the
first burial at Howard Chapel in 1830. The cemetery holds the
graves of several Stutler family members
along with Gouty's and Moudy's.
