Sallie Hall Lindley was born in December 1853 in Vevay, Indiana. Her father, Ira, was 33, and her mother, Euphemia, was 28. She married Julius N. Muret, Jr. on April 25, 1872, in her hometown. They had two children during their marriage. Mrs. Muret and her husband, Julius, went to Arkansas City, September 3, 1883. In 1885 they went to Western Kansas, where Mr. Muret took a claim. Here it was that Mrs. Muret experienced one of the major sorrows of her life. Her husband was shot and killed in a dispute over claim rights. Her brother, Ira Malin Lindley, was also present and shot in the arm, but survived. She died on May 13, 1931, in Cowley, Kansas, at the age of 77.
Julius Nicholas Muret, Jr. was born on July 18, 1849, in Switzerland County, Jefferson Twp., Indiana. His father, Julius, was 33 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 25. He died on June 25, 1885, in Clark, Kansas, at the age of 35, and was buried in Arkansas City, Kansas.
