Dan Webster Grave
Circle Hill
Cemetery
This is a photo of the Dan Webster stone in Circle Hill Cemetery,
Angola, Indiana. As it says on the stone, Dan Webster was born a slave
in Tennessee. He lived with the W. G. Croxton family for 25 years. This
stone is located on the Croxton gravesite. At one time there was a
statue of a dog at the head of this stone but the dog was stolen. I do
not know if the dog was
ever replaced. You can see an early picture of the dog statue on page
#1
of Steuben County Tombstones under "Croxton gravesite".
