WILLIAM JAMES BROWN

Instead of giving you a link to findagrave (it has stuck-up my computer 7 times tonight - grrrr) just copied and pasted it on here - hate doing that as it's someone else's work but that was driving me nuts. So, here is his information --

Birth: Dec. 30, 1743 Culpeper County Virginia, USA

Death: 1829 Putnamville Putnam County Indiana, USA

Elizabeth and William Brown had 9 children Sarah, Fanny, Samuel Thomas, Bentley James, Mary, Matilda. Harriet

I believe William may have been married before Elizabeth

William was 24 years older then Elizabeth by the dates William was married in Virginia and migrated to Garrard County, Kentucky about 1805/1806. From there he moved to Warren Township, Putnam County, Indiana in about 1827 In 1970 William Brown and wife, Elizabeth, were removed from a small burial site on his farm property located in the W1/2 of the NE1/4 of Section 6 T13N R4W in Warren Township, Putnam County, Indiana. They were reburied in the Putnamville Cemetery, Putnamville. On the certificate allowing for the reburial, it stated that he died in 1829 at age 86 William Brown is memorialized on a bronze plaque in the Greencastle, IN courthouse
