George W. Radford Sr.
NEW BEDFORD -- George W. Radford Sr., 63, of Fairhaven, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Priscilla M. (Gracia) Radford; they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this month.
Born in Crawfordsville, Ind., son of Zella (Thompson) Radford of Roachdale, Ind., and the late John W. Radford, he lived in Fairhaven since 1957.
Mr. Radford was a screen handler at Brittany Dye and Print Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1998. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Fairhaven.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the New Bedford Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing and beagle hunting.
Survivors include his widow; his mother; a daughter, Karen A. Deaton of Acushnet; a son, George W. Ratford Jr., of Fairhaven; two sisters, Ann Boller of Russellville, Ind., and Judy Cornett of Roachdale; a brother, Don C. Radford of Utah; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be at 8 a. m. Saturday from the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a. m. in St. Joseph Church, corner of Spring and Adam streets, Fairhaven. Cremation will follow.
