Michel O'Hair

Source: Greencastle Banner and Times, 23 Oct 1896 p 3

Awhile back in speaking of Jonathan Stoner the Banner Times said that he was perhaps the only son of a Revolutionary Soldier in Putnam County. JEM O’Hair is another of Putnam’s sons of Revolutionary Soldiers.  His father, Michael O’Hair was a native of Ireland but moved to America in 1775. In 1876 (sic – 1776), Michael O’Hair was one of the first to respond to the call of his adopted country and help redress her wrongs. He was in General Greene’s division and stayed with the army until the close of the war and the independence of the US was acknowledged by England.
