Interesting descripencies in information on this Revolutionary War soldier

The tombstone listing on findagrave.com has him passing in July 1834. The Indiana Soldiers and Patriots DAR book has January 1834. It also says he is buried Raccoon Township, Franklin Township. The fag listing says LaFollette cemetery near Russellville. There is a picture of the stone and DAR marker. He served as a private in Capt. Henry Balkins' troo pof Light Dragoons in Gen. Count Pulaski's Legion. He enlisted May 24, 1779 for three years and his name appears often on the roll of the troops (Dec 1779; March 1780; April 1780) where he was at Westfield, NJ.

Note: A couple of family trees on ancestry.com indicate he was born in France and his middle name is Jacob. Some sources point to him being in Floyd County, Indiana when he purchased land from the Crawfordsville land office in November 1826
