Basically above says that he was a native of Virginia and witnessed the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. He married Elizabeth Hackett and they had three sons, Robert, John and Andrew. The two first sons served in the War of 1812.

He is said to be buried on the old McHaffie homestead burying grounds, likely in Mill Creek Tw, but there does not seem to be a reference to that on findagrave or any other sources other than the piece above mentioned. .
