ISAAC ARMSTRONG

He enlisted three times, 1777 at age 15, again in 1778 and lastly 1781. He served under Captain Robert Craven and Cols. Nilson and McCleary. He was with Capt. Looner in the battles of Hotwater and Jamestown

Proof was his pension claim S 16312

His death date is unknown for sure but supposedly in Jefferson Township or Putnam County, Indiana

Source: Roster - Soldiers & Patriots of the American Revolution buried in Indiana. Franklin Printing Service, 1981.

Note: Isaac is still living in 1850 - he is listed with a large family, Crawford Tuggle (Triggle) age 39 born VA and Elizabeth, his wife, 38 b Tenn. and their 9 children. (Warren Township, Putnam County census taken 28 Aug 1850). Isaac is listed as age 88 born in Virginia.

In 1836, he was living in Eastern Tennessee (some of the Tuggle children were born there so it's possible he was with them then too) receiving his pension of $18.33. (Source: US Revolutionary Pensioners - note with such a common name, this might not be the same Isaac Armstrong)
