AKER, Levi Franklin born in Putnam County 10 Dec 1893, the son of William Franklin and Martha Hasty Aker. He was a Pvt in the 5th Division 6th Infantry Regiment and was Killed In Action 10 Nov 1918 in Lorraine, France where he is buried at the Meuse-Argonne-American Cemetery in Lorraine - find a bit more about him here: PVT Levi Franklin Aker (1893-1918) - Find a Grave Memorial

On Sunday July 6 Mrs. Martha Akers entertained with a delightful and bounteous dinner at her home in Reelsville in honor of her son, Harvey who recently returned from service overseas. About 60 friends, relatives and neighbors were present and a most enjoyable time was spent. Mrs. Akers had two sons in the army. A son, Levi was killed while in France.

Levi Akers, son of Mrs. Martha Akers of Reelsville received death wound in France on day Armistice was signed – message had reported him Missing In Action – her son, Levi was killed in action in France on Nov 11, the day the armistice was signed was the sad news received Friday evening by Mrs. Martha Akers of Reelsville. Previously the son had been reported as Missing In Action. Levi Akers, who lived with his mother in Reelsville, enlisted on January 17, last year. He leaves, beside his mother, four sisters and two brothers. One of the brothers is now in France.
