Smith - Ruth vs Ray -- 1928 - Putnam

Ruth H. SMITH, through her attorneys James & Allee, has filed suit for divorce in the Putnam Circuit court against Ray M. Smith.  The plaintiff charges the defendant with cruel and inhuman treatment in that he has told her he didn’t love her; did not want to live with her and for her to get a divorce; that he struck her; and that he associates with other women.  According to the complaint the plaintiff lives at 901 North Madison Street but is employed as treasurer by the Automatic Utilities Corporation of Rochester, NY. The couple were married April 6, 1917 and separated May 7, 1928 according to the complaint. - kz
