Matthews & Keller - Putnam

Earl Matthews and Charles Keller who recently purchased the JW Herod grocery on south Main street are ready to meet their customers on the same successful and business like plan of their predecessor. The business will be conducted by the new firm under the name of Matthews & Keller. Both men are well known in the city and county, Mr. Keller having served as deputy treasurer of Putnam County under Fred Masten. Mr. Matthews is a prominent farmer who resides south of town. Mr. and Mrs. Herod will remain with the new firm for several weeks until they become acquainted with the new business. - kbz

The sale of the Matthew & Keller Store in south Greencastle to Fred Thomas announced last Wednesday has fallen through and the deal probably will not be closed.  The business will be continued as before under the management of Matthew & Keller.
