GOFF & SON - Stock Shippers - 1901 - Putnam

The firm of Goff & Son was formed about 5 years ago in 1896. Since that time no change has occurred. They deal extensively in cattle and hogs, shipping principally to Indianapolis, although some stock is shipped to the eastern markets. Just how many loads of stock have been handled would be hard to say but as the volume of business per year averages about $60,000 it is an evident fact that this fir is one of the heaviest shippers of live stock in this vicinity.  About 3 years ago with two thoroughbred Hereford cattle, they began the breeding of this stock and now have on their farm, a large herd, eligible to register. Many fine animals, all registered, have been sold. - kbz
