Dr. J.W. Bilbo was raised near Waveland, Montgomery County and worked on a farm in early life. Attended school at Russellville during Prof. Allen's principalship, sold drugs in Waveland nine years, attended medical lectures at Old University at Louisville, Ky, the last course being in 1879-80. He commenced the practice of medicine in Roachdale; changed his location to Brazil; came back to this community 18 years ago. Attended lectures at Indiana Medical College in 1889-90; moved to Russellville 5 years ago and has been in the active practice of medicine 20 years. - kbz
