4022 3 Biemiller Jacob Henry 5-14-1950   Drowned DIED   Mr Jacob Henry Biemiller died trying to save children from drowning.  Three children drowned while on the river with three siblings and their father Hinderliter, Frederick James Jr.,  Deceased were: Deig, Marcellus Edward age 8; Deig, Donald Lewis age 5; and Carr, and Hillary Dale age 9.  Two children swam to safety Carr, Carolyn Sue and Crawford, Carolyn Sue.  Crawford Jerry Wayne was saved.  Mt. Biemiller had floated near the Mt Vernon Water Works and was recovered 22 May 1950.  See Also Box 4022-10, 4022-15 & 4022-16.

4022 4 Blackford Martin VanBuren 1-16-1950 Wabash He was found in the Wabash River 2 mi SE of Griffin.  He was alive when found but the shock of the cold water was too much for him.  His boat capsized.  Found by and he saw it happen was Charles J Watson of Grayville, Il.  Coroner was John W. Doane.  Determined Accidental death from shoch from exposure in water about 45 minutes when he fell from a boat.

4028 2 Bottomley Glendola 8-11-1935 28 Drown Wabash Drowning in the Wabash River, accidental while bathing.  This happened at the Rail Road Bridge.  She sank and Fayetta Bottomley, Ralph Shepard, Arietta Shepard and Chester Creekmur went to get help.  The body was found the next day.  Statement of Luther Cross he and his two brothers Lemuel Cross and Ernest Cross and Curtis Harman and John Bottomly her brother found her about a mile and half from where she was drowned.  She was 5'6" tall, 14 years old, blue eyes, light brown hair, and had on a red bathing suit.

4017 14 4067 14 Bundy Izetta A 6-20-1880 17 Shot Death by: Gunshot wound to breast by William Penix.  Found near the farm of her father Christopher C Bundy.  Penix did with premeditation and murderous intent kill her.  He was working for her father and he took her fathers rifle to shoot squirrels and then one hour later the rifle was heard.  She was found lying on the road shot in her breast.  Penix executed himself with the rifle and also died.  MD was J B Williams.
