Jackson Township
Jackson Township was one of the original townships when the county was formed in 1860. It has one town, Mt. Ayr. To learn more about the history of Jackson Township and Mt. Ayr, please visit our Newcomer
site. The former town of Pilot Grove, which held the first post office
for the county, was located in Section 21, just off CR325S. Not far
from the Amish Cemetery.
The North Star Cemetery is
located in Section 3. From the intersection of SR 114 and SR 55 go
north to North Star Road, go west, it will be on the right.
The Kennedy Cemetery is lcoated in Section 20. From US 41 and SR 114, go east to 100E, go north, it wil be on the right.
Ames Cemetery - located on
private property. From US 41 and SR 114, go east to SR 55, turn north
continue straight at first curve of SR 55 (500E), continue north,
follow road to 525E, go north, it is on the right.
The Amish Cemetery is located
in Section 21, from US 41 and SR 114, go east to 200E, go north to
325S, go east, it will be on the right, walking distance.
