Sand Creek deriving its name from an adjacent gravel pit, was a country school, located three and a half miles east6 of Waynetowm on the Stebbins Quick farm. It was a district school until 1912-14 when it was consolidated with the school at Waynetown. After being abandoned as a school, the building was moved to a different location and is utilized as a chicken house on the Quick farm now, the property of Mrs. WS Merrell, whose mother was Mrs. Rhoda Monroe, a class member and daughter of Stebbins Quick. Originally taking place at the home of Mrs. Monroe, the reunions since her passing are held at the home of various members. A basket dinner is featured and a short business session is held but the greater part of the day is passed in "just reminiscing." Class members plan to hold these annual reunions as long as two members remain, the single survivor to then observe the occasion in a fitting manner.
