The reunion of the descendants of Washington and Mary Jones, pioneer Montgomery County residents, was held Sunday at the farm of A.W. Mote, one and a half miles west of Darlington. There was a large attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Washington Jones with their six children, came to Montgomery County in October, 1831 from Butler County, Ohio and settled upon an 80-acre tract where Smartsburg is now located. The land they settled is now owned by J.J. Wingert and David Hole -- transcribed by kbz
