The 28th annual reunion of the Gray family, commemorable of the birth of the venerable Uncle Sant Gray, deceased was held on Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Gray south of town. There was about 70 of the relatives and friends present and the occasion was a very enjoyable and pleasant one for all. The dinner over, a short literary and musical program given by the little folks was enjoyed and the social features of the afternoon were the most pleasant. Those from a distance were Susan Wormen, Dayton, Ohio; Aunt Susan Walters and daughter, Mrs. Will O'Neal of Crawfordsville, SP Gray and wife of Covington and WB Gray and Sister Stella of Veedersburg. The next reuinon will be held with Mrs. Redden B. Snyder of Crawfordsville  -- typed by kbz

The 34th annual reunion of the Gray family was held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Snyder in Crawfordsville about 75 of the relatives being present. These reunions were firs begun by the venerable Uncle Sant Gray and since his death the family has paid a sacred respect to his memory by perpetuating the event, meeting on June 14 each year as first begun and kept up during his lifetime by the venerable father of the family. All the Gray Family – Uncle Jim, Ben, TR, WD, SP and Ellis, Mrs. James Vaughan and Mrs. Elizabeth Snyder were all present, and most of the grandchildren and great grandchildren were also present, but some of the relatives from a distance were not present at this time. The forenoon was spent in a social way in meeting and greeting in the usual manner. At noon the annual feast was spread and everyone got interested immediately and were busily engaged in the good things prepared for the event for some time.  Finally this part of the day’s program was over from sheer force of the fact that not one of those present could eat another bite, and then a program of recitations and readings was given by the little folks present. The business session then followed in which the suggestion to change the date of the annual meeting from the 14th of June to the Sunday following and also to centralize the meeting by holding all future reunions at the home of Uncle Jim Gray – the old homestead of the Gray family – failed to carry and the meetings will continue to be held as in the past, each taking their turn in entertaining the reunion. The history of the family which has been in preparation by Ben TR Gray for the past three or four years beginning with the family ancestors who emigrated to this country from Scotland, has about been completed and a committee was appointed to revise and prepare it for publication. The event was the usual good time throughout that has always been characteristic of these reunions and when the goodbyes were said it was with the fervent hope that no link in the family chain be broken before the next annual meeting and roll call on June 14 1912.
