Civil War Vets
The dwindling ranks of the CW Vets only showed four in line at the Memorial Address. They were SE Cuppy, HM Zachary, Henry Loudermill and MO Sullivan. TN Moody and Theodore Craig were kept at home by disability and HH Lough was unable to be present on account of the illness of Mrs. Lough. A detachment from the American Legion acted as escort and assisted in the decoration. As usual CR Williams went along to point out the graves. He is the only one in the community who knows the location of every soldier's grave. The address by Rev. JB Johnson was a thoughtful and timely one, and one that every one should ponder. He is a strong advocate of peace but does not expect it to come by the Christian nationsl adopting at this time a pacificst program. He instances as among the prime causes of war Greed, Hatred and Ignorance and to bring about world peace these causes must be abated and removed.
