Canine Family - 1931 - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

The 25th annual reunion of the Canine Family was held at Milligan Park in Crawfordsville, Sunday. 127 were present and as usual at the noon hour had a bountiful dinner. Thomas Canine of Advance was the oldest man present having reached his 79th year. Mrs. Anna Doyel was the oldest woman, being 82 years. Ralph Canine of Fort Sill, Oklahoma had come the greatest distance. Wayne Canine of Battle Creek, Michigan was the second greatest distance. Donald Eugene VanCleave received the ring as the youngest member present. The reunion will be held next year at the same time and place and the officers are: President, George Canine; VP, Nannie Riddle, Sec Helen Canine, treasurer Mrs. Jesse Canine. Mrs. RH Galloway of Ockmulgee, Oklahoma is the oldest living member of the family, having reached the age of 87 years. There was good music under the leadership of Ben Canine. Each one present being called on to tell who they were and how they were family connection were the features of interest. The reunion was one of the most satisfactory held in recent years, all expressing themselves as having had an excellent time.
