BREAKS REUNIONS
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal, 6 December 1890
After Thanksgiving services held at Roberts Chapel by Rev. J. M. Stafford, the people repaired to the attractive home of Alvin Breaks where the second annual reunion and Thanksgiving of the Breaks family was to be held. Of the family there are six brothers and one sister living, John, Richard, Harrison, Calvin, Thomas, Alvin and Hannah McClamrock, all of whom were present except Calvin who was kept away by sickness. The following are some of the guests: Rev. J. M. Stafford and family, Wm. McClamrock and family, David Jackson and family, Daniel King and family, Andy Shanklin and wife, Walter Thompson and wife, Albert Snyder and wife, Sherman McClamrock and family. Jonathan Everett and family, Ira Snyder and family, John Swank and family, Sarah Truitt, Prof. Dunn, Misses Allie Bible, Maud and May McClamrock, Wilcox and Grandma Collin and others amounting in all to about 75. Among the number there were only two Democrats. The food on the table, the music by the ladies and the wit and humor of Ira Snyder were ample entertainment for the day. After the song "God be With You Until We Meet Again" and prayer by Mr. Stafford, the people dispersed to meet again next year with Harrison Breaks. -- thanks to Kim H
