Wm. T. Watson has been appointed and qualified executor of the last will of Susan Deer, deceased.
Susan Deer was born at Milford, Connecticut Aug 20th 1793 and died at the residence of Wm. T. Watson, Brown Township, Montgomery County Indiana Nov 5, 1888 aged 95 years, 2 months and 15 days. She had no special disease but nature seemed to give away from old age and for the last two or three months of her life she suffered with pains in her back so that most of the time she could not sit up. Her husband, Joel Deer, the father of County Commissioner-elect Joel G. Deer died 24 years ago since which time she has made her home with Wm. T. Watson. At an early date her family moved to Cincinnati from there a portion of them to Montgomery County, Ind. She was married about 1847 or 1848.l She never had any children and was not connected with any church. She frequently expressed a desire to die and seemed perfectly resigned to go hence at any time. She was a pensioner of the war of 1812, her husband being a member of a company of Virginia militia. She was buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Waveland.
