Solomon Deputy, was born March 12, 1831 in Jefferson County, Indiana and died August 15, 1912 in Woodbine, Harrison County, Iowa. He was the son of Joshua Emmet Deputy and Mary "Polly" Woods, who are both buried in the Wiggam Cemeter in Deputy, Jefferson County. He married Lucy Lawrence on September 16, 1852 in Jennings County. Lucy Lawrence was born May 18, 1828 in Jennings County, Indiana and died April 7, 1903 in Woodbine, Harrison County, Iowa. She was the daughter of John Lawrence and Ruth Merrell, they both died here in Jennings County and are buried in Graham Presbyterian Cemetery.
