BUTLERVILLE
Golden Wedding, Barney C. Barnum was married to Phoebe Ackerman, October 6th, 1841, and their fiftieth aniversary was celebrated at their residence last Thursday. Six children, twelve grand children and a host of friends, both old and young were present with well filled baskets. Two long tables were bountifully spread with the fat of the land. The blushing bride and groom of 50 years ago sat at the center of a long table facing a beautiful design of Golden Rod with the number fifty placed in the center, a very appropriate emblem of the many golden days through which the happy couple have passed. After everyone had been at the tables until even the dainties had lost their taste, the guests were invitied into the parlor which was nicely decorated with flowers where the bride and groom were married over by jumping the broom handle, after which all enjoyed some good music, conversation and other amusements, many and fine were the presents. About three o'clock the crowd began to disperse, wishing the happy couple many more like aniversaries.
