The Honored Dead
MARIETTA, Ga., March 17, 1885
Mr. Henry C. King, Saluda, Jefferson County, Indiana,:
    DEAR SIR: Yours of the 28th ult., forwarded by the Quartermaster, U. S. A., at Atlanta, Ga., is just received, and, as requested, I send you a list of the dead of the 82d Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry interred in this cemetery, with the section and number of their graves. You will perceive that the two names you mention (Miles and King) appear upon this list as follows, viz:

    The above comprise the interments of the 82d Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry in this National Cemetery, so far known. Each grave is marked with a substantial headstone of white marble, with the number of the grave, name of deceased and State, cut in raised letters on each headstone. The total number of interments in this cemetery is 10,154.
