SIXTH INDIANA
Regimental Reunion at North Vernon, Sept. 17th and 18th, "85
North Vernon Plain Dealer - September 23, 1885

    The members of the Sixth Indiana Regiment met at North Vernon on the 17th and 18th insts. in connections with those of the 22d and 82d Regiments, and all together had a glorious time. At a called meeting of the Sixth, Col. Hagerman Tripp was chosen temporary Chairman, and Comrade Owen P. Scarff was elected Secretary, after which steps were taken to effect a permanent organization, and accordingly an adjourned meeting for that purpose was held on Friday morning, 18th inst., at which the following veterans answered to their names.

    Company B-Morris Jayne, Jerome Kelley, Samuel Kiltz, L. D. Daringer, Stephen Jayne, Dan Grinstead, J. B. Kane, Charles Higbee, Wm. Ross, Captain P. C. McGannon.

    F-Thomas A. Hudson, Aaron Spivey, Bail Briddle, Joseph B. Platt, S. K. Ames, John R. Crawford.

    I-Otho McCracklin, Virgil Baker, W. H. Greiner, John Sutton, Amos Patrick, Frank Rowley, Jas. A. Taylor, David Elliott, R. D. Kuntz.
    K-William G. Courtney, A. S. Creath, John Tucker, Wm. Wills, L. H. Hill, Conrad Carbert.
    Reports were received from thirty-two others, with their addresses.
    The Association was organized by the election of Lieut. William Wills as President; Captain J. C. Whaley, Vice President; Comrade Owen P. Scarff, Secretary; Lieut. A. J. Grayson, Historian; Comrade Scott Prather, Marshal.
    September 16th and 17th, 1886, at North Vernon, was fixed as the time and place of the next reunion, to which time an adjournment was made. It was agreed on all hands that this reunion was the most successful the Sixth had ever held both in number present and interest shown.
