GADDY/WYKOFF & CAVE/DIXON CEMETERIES
"OLD PARIS" JENNINGS COUNTY, INDIANA
Most of the work transcribing these cemeteries was done in the 1940's by Marie "Billie" McGannon of "Old Paris".

Marie (Hughes) McGannon lived in "Old" Paris for over 60 years. She spent many years as a Teacher in the area including teaching in early one room schools such as the Gum Lick School. (R.I.P. September 30, 1914 - November 21, 2013). I am dedicating the listing of the Paris Cemeteries to Billie and would love to see her dream of saving the Cave/Dixon cemetery and having it listed as a Pioneer Cemetery come true.

Both of the Paris Cemeteries have been sold to Private owners in the last few years. The smaller Gaddy/Wykoff Cemetery is in good shape and the Shorts' who purchased it have given it back to Jennings County. They are working hard to take good care of it as Trustees.  For a number of years the larger cemetery known as the Cave/Dixon Cemetery has been slipping into oblivian.
Jonathan Lopnow's excellent Jennings County site has a good PDF listing of these Cemeteries also.
My notes are in this color purple

I want to Thank Tim Beckman of the -Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War-for verifying and correcting some of the original information about Civil War Veterans buried here!
