Kenneth Glen Bosworth, age 96, a resident of rural Ridgeville in Jay
County, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his home.
Kenny was
born on April 30, 1923, in Raleigh, North Dakota, the son of Glen and Elva
Grace (Parr) Bosworth. Kenny was married to Wilma Jean Ridgeway on March 7,
1948 and she passed away on October 13, 2002. He later married Norma (Kline)
Alberson on May 1, 2004 and she passed away on March 22, 2017.
Kenny
graduated from Portland High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Marine
Corps. during World War II then attended Purdue University. He was a
carpenter and farmed in Pike Township since 1952. He also worked for Sheller
Globe in Union City for 15 years.
Memberships include Deerfield
United Methodist Church, Portland Morning Optimist Club, where he served as
President and was awarded Optimist of the Year in 1988, American Legion Post
#211 of Portland, life member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor
Association, Farm Bureau, where he served as President and Limberlost
Squares.
Survivors include:
1 son: Gary Bosworth (wife Diana)
– Goodland, Indiana
1 daughter: Nancy Fulaytar (husband Rick) –
Anderson, Indiana
5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren

sister: Janene Norris – Coldwater, Ohio
Visitation will be held on
Friday from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral
Home in Portland. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the
funeral home. Pastor Derrell Borders will officiate and burial will follow
at Little Salamonia Cemetery, south of Portland.
Portland American
Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military rites at the cemetery.
Memorials may be directed towards the Portland Morning Optimist Club.
