OBITUARY
Flora Ellen Swincher (nee Scott) daughter of Loten Scott, was born Sept.
9 1868, and departed this life at her home near Van Buren, Indiana
January 31 1918, aged 49 years 4 months 22 days.
March 21 1885, she was united in marriage to J. F. Swincher. To this
union was born fifteen children five of them departing this life in
infancy.
Early in life she became a member of the United Brethren Church and was
known to every one as a true Christian woman, always cheerful and ready
with help and sympathy in time of trouble and sorrow with no thought of
self, living only to serve the Lord by helping others; always guided by
His word, and when called to meet Him her last words were, "Where he
leads I will follow."
She leaves to mourn, a husband, four sons, six daughters, a father,six
brothers, four sisters and many relatives and friends. The family has the
sympathy of the church and community.
Nobody knows of the love it took
To keep the home together;
Nobody knew of the work it took,
Nobody only mother.
Nobody knew of the joy it brought
Nobody knew the sorrow
Nobody knew the care it had,
Nobody only mother.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, at the UB
Church, conducted by Rev. W. A. Strickler. Interment at the Corey
Cemetery.
