SHADLEY, Jennie Kees

Mrs. Jennie Shadley, 57, who with her husband Homer Shadley
had resided on a a farm in the vicinity of Hillsboro for the past 11
years, died at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois Sunday
evening (1
August 1948) at 5:40 o'clock. She had been a surgery
patient for the past 10 days and was thought to be improving when she
suffered a a heart attack.
Mrs. Shadley was born in December 1890 at Paris, Ill
daughter of Theodore and Mary Cook Kees. She was married 41 years ago to
Homer Shadley, who survives. Other survivors are three
daughters, Mrs. Mary
Tigh of near Fairmount, Ill; Mrs. Bernadine WInfield,
Hillsboro and Miss Bertrana Shadley, Indianapolis; a son, Kenneth Shadley,
Hillsboro businessman; three brothers, William Tees (Kees), Danville
and Elba and
Gus Tees (Kees), Fairmount; a sister, Mrs. Ella Drollinger,
Covington and 3 grandchildren.
The Carrington Funeral Home, Fairmount was in charge of the
burial. The body was removed to the home of the daughter Mrs. Mary Tigh
near Fairmount Monday to remain until the funeral service which
was held in
the Fairmount Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev.
George Chaffax officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery,
