Mrs. Stella F. Butts, 80, was found dead by her granddaughter about noon Sunday (Dec. 5, 1976) at her home, 11 Indiana. Death was due to natural causes, according to Vermilion County Coroner Gary Ballard. Mrs. Butts had worked at Allith-Prouty, and also in food service at the Veterans Administration Hospital, retiring in 1962. She also put in 2,500 hours as a volunteer worker at the VA. Mrs. Butts was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 228, and the Women's Relief Corps. Her hobby was painting. Born Aug. 3, 1896 in Veedersburg, Ind., she was a daughter of Ulysses G. and Euphronia Butts Button. She attended Veedersburg schools. On Feb. 19, 1916, she married Roy G. Butts. He died May 12, 1966. A son, Loren, and two brothers also preceded her in death. Survivors include a brother, William Button of Danville; a granddaughter, Retha Flaherty of Danville, and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pape Memorial Home with the Rev. Wolford Price officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. --waw
