Ray W. Bryant, 77, Newtown, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Kincaid, Hillsboro. She had been in ill health one year. She was a life resident of Mellott and Newtown. She was born April 13, 1909 in Mellott, she graduated from Mellott High School in 1928. On May 24, 1930, she was married in Rockville to Russell Bryant, who survives. She was manager of the cafeteria at Fountain Central and Richland Township schools for 27 years. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Mellott. Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Bernie Bryant, Catlin, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (LaVila) Kincaid, Hillsboro; one brother, Homer Hancock, Redding, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Fauniel Cole, Lafayette; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Tuesday) at the Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Rev. Allen Rumble officiating. Burial was in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Women's Society of the United Church of Christ, Mellott.
