BROWN, Rozella Henry

Hillsboro, Nov 4 – (1943) – Mrs. Rozella May Brown, 76, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elva Voorhees, south of here on Thursday afternoon.  She had been in poor health for several years suffered a paralytic stroke last August and another Thursday morning.  Mrs. Brown was the last of a family of six brothers and sisters and the third to die this year. Squire Henry of Wingate, a brother and Mrs. Lily Lang, Danville, Ill a sister died earlier this year. She was born April 6, 1867, southeast of Mellott, the daughter of Abraham and Sarah Short Henry and lived in that vicinity up to about 1900.  She was married to George W. Brown Sept 19, 1889; and after his death in 1929 she had made her home with her children. She was a member of the Christian Congregational Church at Mellott.  Survivors in addition to Mrs. Vorhees are Mrs. Golda Hershberger, Hillsboro, a daughter; two sons, Charles, Wallace and Russel, Evansville and a step-daughter, Mrs. Clara Lucas, Rose Hill, Ill as well as 11 grandchildren.  Funeral, will be held at the Hillsboro Christian Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery here.
