Mellott, Nov 12 - Homer Brown, 44, resident of this place for a number of years died suddenly while visiting in the downtown section Wednesday night. Brown had been ill with tuberculosis for several years but his condition had seemed no worse lately. While sitting in a filling station about 9 o'clock Wednesday night, he suddenly was overcome by a coughing spell. He went outside where he had a hemorrhage and died within a few minutes.
The deceased was born near Waynetown on July 15, 1887, the son of Jackson and Emma Brown. He was never married. For a number of years he had lived with a sister, Miss Eva Brown in Mellott.
The survivors include two sisters, Eva of this place and Deeda Brown of Danville, Ill and two brothers, Walter Brown of Mellott and Floyd Brown of near Mellott. The funeral services will be held at the home here Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in charge of the Rev. JE Dry.
