BROWN, Cora Brooks

Mrs. Cora Brown, 72, who had been ill for an extended period, died at 8 o’clock Monday night at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Newnum. Her death was hastened by a stroke which she suffered Saturday. Born near Tangier May 12, 1875, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Stephen and Katherine Sowers Brooks. Her marriage to John Brown took place May 9, 1897. Mr. Brown died March 12, 1934.
In addition to the daughter at whose home she died, Mrs. Brown is survived by another daughter, Miss Nellie Brown, at home, and a son, Frank Brown of Danville, Ill. There are two grandchildren. A brother, William Brooks, of Kingman, also survives.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Fairview Church near Tangier. Services were conducted at the church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial was in the Harvey Cemetery. -s
