Covington, April 19 - Benjamin Brown, a farmer, age 71, and living nine miles northeast of Covington was gored to death by a bull at his home at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening. Mr. Brown had gone out to do the evening milking against the orders of his son who waned him about the disposition of the animal. When found by his grandson a short time later every bone in his body had been broken by the maddened beast. The bull has been considered as dangerous and Mr. Brown had been repeatedly warned by his son to keep away from the animal.
The son, Elba Brown had gone to Stone Bluff on Wednesday and before he returned the father had gone out to do the milking which terminated in tragedy. After finding his grandfather the grandson summoned a son-in-law of Mr. Brown's and a number of neighbors to his aid but by the time they arrived his life had been completely stamped out. Mr. Brown had just returned 10 days ago from Florida where he had spent the winter. He had twice been married, his second wife being Mary Davidson of Newtown who preceded him in death one year ago. The deceased is survived by the son, Elba Brown and one sister, Mrs. Louise Coffing of Covington. The time of the funeral has not been yet set.
