Mrs. Anna Britto of Independence choked to death while trying to eat a piece of cheese Tuesday of last week, the muscles of the pharynx and esophagus becoming wholly paralyzed during the act of swallowing. Mrs. Britto had been afflicted with partial paralysis of the throat and other parts of the body for several years. The funeral services were conducted from the church at Independence at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon of last week, Rev. Covey officiating. Interment was made in Independence cemetery.
