Robert Brimbury Sr., 53, of 216 N. Newlis, Veedersburg, died at 1 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 5, 1975) at his home. He had a rare blood disease and had been ill for five years. Born Oct. 11, 1921, in Wingate, he was the son of Charles and Della Mortimore Brimbury. On Oct. 21, 1967, in Hillsboro, Ohio, he married Bertha L. Jones, who survives. Mr. Brimbury served as a medical technician in World War II and was awarded the bronze star. He was chief of the supply division for Veterans Administrations at Dayton, Ohio, for 25 years and upon retirement, he received the distinguished award for recognition of services. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Charles Forrest American Legion Post 288 of Veedersburg. Survivors include his mother of Veedersburg; five sons, Robert Jr., Charles, Steven and Michael, all at home, James of Gary; three daughters, Miss Judy Brimbury of Gary, Mrs. Harold (Neil) Hunter of Hamilton, Ohio and Mrs. Walter (Sheila) Kelly of Carmel; two brothers, Mike of Fruitland, Idaho and Bill of Veedersburg; four sisters, Mrs. James (Beulah) Holden of Silverwood, Mrs. E. Clair (Lala) Smith of Waveland, Mrs. Dale (Alberta) Collom of Mecca and Mrs. Charles (Vera) Redman of Hammond; four grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two sisters and seven brothers. Services at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Glen Youngblood officiating. Burial in old Baptist Cemetery at Newtown.
